  • Courses are organised and approved by the union to build officials’ skills, knowledge and confidence and make a real difference to members’ working lives
  • Trade union leave from work can be negotiated
  • All course materials are provided and tutors are approachable and knowledgeable
  • Residential courses are full-time over three days, usually midweek
  • A range of hotel venues with accommodation costs paid by the union
  • Different geographical locations available and travel costs are reimbursed
  • Childcare costs can be covered and an out-of-pocket allowance is paid
