The regional education and learning organiser (RELO)

Every region has a regional education and learning organiser (RELO) who will find out about the learning interests and needs of the members and officials in their area.

They will identify education opportunities that might be appropriate and helpful, either for members’ lifelong learning or for their development as a trade union official. RELOs share their local knowledge to put together a national picture of learning needs and interests across the union.

This is used to develop the national education programme so that members have access to informative and inspiring courses that will build their knowledge, skills, confidence and enthusiasm for being involved in the Fire Brigades Union.

RELOS are supported by brigade/area education officers and each section has officials who can advise on education and learning for section members.
