This course brings together two key strands in the union’s fight for fairer FRS workplaces.
The first is members’ right to use the Grey Book grievance procedure to raise with their service any issue of unfair or unfavourable treatment. This basic employment right has become a tool of last resort and the course seeks to rebuild rep and member confidence in using grievances to assert the right to fairness and justice at work.
The second is the FBU commitment to Equality Matters and the need for all reps and members to engage with live debates including those around ‘culture’, positive action, unity, and solidarity.
The course will explore the role of the union rep in building a strong union presence that will positively influence the workplace ethos and environment for the benefit of all.
