This course is being newly developed to support those reps who have recently been elected to brigade official roles or who are likely to move towards these roles in the near future.
The programme will include the fundamental building blocks of constructing and strengthening the brigade, including capacity building, rep development, casework management, and effective leadership. There will be a focus both on promoting meaningful union democracy locally and throughout the annual Conference cycle and on managing employer relations including responsibilities, leverage and disputes.
Participants will gain learning and expertise from regional officials, longstanding brigade officials and those who have been elected and found their feet more recently, to capture what they wish they had known when they were elected.
