This three-day course is foundation learning for branch and section officials and is the initial stage of the FBU branch and brigade officials’ education pathway.
Discussions are rooted in trade union values and the course is intended to ensure that all officials can operate and organise confidently in their elected FBU role.
You will find out the essential tasks associated with the branch officials’ roles, learn where to get help and advice, and ensure you have the resources you need to support members in your branch and build a strong union group. You will discuss how the union works and how you can influence policy and make a positive difference to life in the Fire and Rescue Service. You will be able to meet and work with reps from other brigades and sections and have your questions answered.
This course is available to officials in every region.

Participants should be available to attend full-time across the three day course.
