Mental health is a priority for the union and this course helps to develop our understanding of members’ issues by bringing together reps from across the country.
It will be an opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence in approaching these issues in a trade union context and you will be supported to make a positive impact on your workplace.
You will gain a deeper understanding of a range of mental health conditions and how they manifest and should be supported in the workplace. Our focus will be on collective approaches to prevention – how does work affect members’ mental health and how can we improve workplace practice and culture to protect each other?
The course gathers best practice in trade union negotiating, policy, health and safety, and diversity and inclusion.
Before applying for this course please be aware that this is not a counselling or crisis intervention course but instead aims to consider the contribution that a trade union can make to improving mental health at work.
