FBU Mental Health Project – survey launch
The FBU’s research project with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) looking into mental health in the fire and rescue service is entering its second stage.
The first part of the project surveyed fire and rescue services and interviewed trade union representatives about the mental health provision available to fire service staff.
Now we want to hear from members about their experiences with mental health on the frontline.
We have launched a survey of all serving firefighters and fire control staff to uncover the driving causes behind poor mental wellbeing in the fire service.
The survey is available online at the following link and will be open for 3 months.

We need 10,000 responses to have enough data to take to the government and fire service leaders to advocate for better mental health provision in the fire service. Your participation will be invaluable in improving wellbeing in the fire service.
