Firefi ghters in the New Firefi ghters’ Pension Scheme (NFPS) face a big hit from government proposals for pensions. As well as the increase in contributions from April 2012 and April 2013 - with more expected in April 2014 and 2015 (to 13.2%) - fi refi ghters in the NFPS will also be affected by the Normal Pension Age (NPA) proposal of 60.
