Promoting inclusion, challenging sexism, racism, homophobia and transphobia

Conference notes with concern an apparent increase in sexist, racist, homophobic and transphobic abuse of Members and Officials of our Union.

Conference further notes that on occasions this abuse is being perpetrated by Members and Officials of our Union.

Conference acknowledges that the Executive Council are already taking a proactive approach in establishing a working group to look at the issues of sexual harassment and wider equality issues.

In addition to the working group Conference also believes our Union would benefit from further external independent assistance to advise on how as a Union we challenge and tackle the issues we currently face and instructs the Executive Council to explore this.
