Conference notes the work carried out by past and present National Officers that helped secure the legal victory on pension discrimination.

Conference further notes the work carried out by National Officers in securing an agreement with the Local Government Association in October 2021, by terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In respect of the MoU, Conference notes a number of Fire and Rescue Services (FRSs), and Fire Authorities (FAs), are refusing or delaying in signing up to the MoU thus restricting our Members accessing the pension that they are entitled to.

Conference therefore instructs the Executive Council to instigate legal proceedings against any FRSs and/or FAs refusing to sign up to the MoU, with immediate effect, and proceed all cases through the courts until final conclusion.
