Health and safety (H&S)

Conference applauds the work carried out by H&S Reps across the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) during the Covid-19 pandemic. The work carried out was vital in keeping our Members safe at work whilst still completing more regular H&S duties.

Conference agrees that H&S work carried out by FBU Officials is vital and a highly important part of the objectives of the FBU.

Conference demands that the Executive Council write to all Fire and Rescue Services to lay out H&S expectations and the rights of the FBU afforded to our Members and representatives under H&S law.

Conference agrees that any FRSs who ignore H&S rights or mistreat FBU H&S Reps will be robustly challenged by the FBU using all means available including industrial and/or legal action.
