Equality impact assessment (EIA)

Conference recognises that EIAs are a well established and credible tool for demonstrating due regard to the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), which is required by law.

These assessments and their application therefore must become core business of the Fire Brigades Union.

Conference instructs the Executive Council to add EIA training into our national trade union education programme to support those in elected roles. Education should begin as soon as is reasonably practicable and a report on progress should be delivered to Conference 2023
