Conference notes the Conservative Party manifesto of 2019 contained plans to legislate for the maintenance of a minimun level of train services during periods of industrial action.
Conference agrees that this can only be seen as an attack on train workers right to strike.
Conference condemns any attack on any workers right to strike and Conference agrees to support our brothers and sisters in the railway industry with defending themselves against this potential authoritarian attack.
Conference agrees that the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) is likely to face similar threats on our profession and our right to strike in the coming months and years.
Conference therefore agrees that the FBU should be prepared and poised to take this fight on immediately should it materialise.
Conference agrees that should our right to strike be threatened, the FBU will consider all options available to defend ourselves against such an attack, including industrial action.
