Venezuela solidarity

Conference notes current FBU affiliation to the International Campaigns ‘Hands Off Venezuela’ and ‘Venezuela Solidarity Campaign’.

Conference further notes the coup attempt of 30th April 2019 that added to the problems already faced by an economy struggling with low global oil prices and the announcement of US sanctions.

Conference recognises that international solidarity matters and therefore undertakes to;

• Send a message of solidarity and support to the people of Venezuela via our affiliations

• Encourage FBU Branches to affiliate to the Venezuela Solidarity Campaign

• Invite Venezuela Solidarity Campaign speakers to Regional Committee meetings.

Conference also calls on the British Government to promote dialogue to foster a peaceful solution to the Venezuelan crisis.
