Sick Pay

Conference demands that the Executive Council enter into negotiations to correct the discrimination of firefighters working on the Day Crewed Duty System. The Executive Council should make every effort to achieve the situation where a Day Crewed Firefighter, on authorised sick leave as a result of an illness or injury arising out of authorised duty, shall be entitled to the equivalent sick pay of their colleagues working on the Retained Duty System. This could be achieved by calculation as per Section 5, part B, Paragraph 17 of the Scheme of Conditions of Service, Sixth Edition, not the currently used Paragraph 15.
