Equality Impact Assessment

This Conference notes that all Fire & Rescue Services (FRS) should be carrying out Equality Impact Assessments (EIA) in line with their legal duties under the recently promulgated Equality Act, which came into force in April 2007. This Conference is concerned that some FRSs are not carrying out EIAs. This Conference instructs the Executive Council to raise this issue with the FRS National Employers as a matter of urgency, with a view to ensuring that all FRS managements undertake to carry out these assessments. The Executive Council is to report back on this matter to Annual Conference 2009.
