Appliance Cctv Cameras

This Conference condemns the use of appliance CCTV cameras by Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service for the purpose of initiating disciplinary proceedings against our members. This purpose is contrary to their own policy and any understanding with the Fire Brigades Union. The cameras were installed with the clear intention of providing firefighter protection, i.e. attacks on firefighters. This misuse will have a negative impact with regard to any potential benefits to firefighter protection and has led to a loss of confidence and trust with CF&RS management. This Conference calls on the Fire Brigades Union to commence a campaign for the removal of appliance CCTV cameras.
