Fbu Strategy

Conference instructs the Executive Council to bring to Annual Conference 2008 a detailed, long term strategy for dealing with the Fire Service management’s approach to consultation, negotiation and the modernising agenda. There is a need for a detailed debate and clear strategy on how the FBU is to tackle national and local employers in seeking to achieve the objects of the Union (Rule 3 of our Rule Book) in order to best represent the interests of FBU members and the public, both of whom are under attack by today’s modern management. The long term strategy brought to Conference 2008 will be debated in closed session. The Executive should produce a detailed guidance document for all Officials within 6 months of Conference 2008 outlining what the strategy is and how all the recommendations should be implemented.
