The FBU has raised concerns over recent events in West Midlands fire and rescue service, which have seen both the Chair of the Fire Authority and the fire service's Chief resign.
Matt Wrack, Fire Brigades Union general secretary, said:
“Firefighters and the public in the West Midlands have been let down by senior leaders in the fire and rescue service.
“Stability and leadership are essential to the delivery of an effective emergency service. After the embarrassment and disruption of recent weeks, it is welcome that the Fire Authority have acknowledged the FBU’s concerns and committed to change.
“We will continue to firmly represent the interests of firefighters, fire control staff and other fire service employees, and will hold the new Chair of the Fire Authority and Chief of the service to account.”
