Brother Chris Page, Bedfordshire firefighter and FBU member, has died after contracting Covid-19. The 58-year-old passed on Tuesday evening and will be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues.
The FBU is raising money to support Brother Page’s family using a new text-to-donate platform, DONATE, from the National Funding Scheme.
Chris Page was based at Sandy Fire Station in Bedfordshire and served in the fire and rescue service for more than 19 years, spending 15 also delivering the Fire Cadet Scheme.

Matt Wrack, FBU general secretary, said:
“We are devastated to learn of Brother Chris Page’s death. He is the first currently-serving FBU member to die after contracting Coivd-19 and will be mourned by firefighters and control staff across the country.
“Firefighters like Chris put their lives on the line every day in service to their community and it is a tragedy to lose one of our own to this pandemic.
“We are at our strongest when we come together and the FBU is proud to launch a new initiative to support the families of fallen firefighters, allowing the entire fire and rescue family to easily support Chris’s family at this difficult time.”
