Emergency fire control Eastern region

The FBU knows the critical role control staff play in keeping the FRS operational. However too often our members in control are expected to do more with less resources, training, and recognition. The FBU is determined to make things better in control but we need your help.

This National Control School is our chance to bring dedicated and passionate FBU members together from control rooms across the UK.

Through this school we aim to:

  • Build a network of FBU control members to share experiences and solidarity.
  • Build strong and empowered FBU Control Branches across the FRS.
  • Give attendees the knowledge and skills to make things better in their workplace.
  • Give control members a stronger voice within the FBU to fight for the issues which matter most to them and their colleagues.

Further details

There is no requirement to have done any other FBU or TUC course before attending, nor are there any other education requirements. There is no tests or homework and learning is focussed on discussion and participatory activity where we learn from each other and our experiences as Control staff.
