Fatal Incident – Scottish Fire and Rescue Service – Brother Barry Martin
It is with great regret that I have to inform you that our member, Brother Barry Martin has died following an incident at the former department store, Jenners, in Edinburgh on Monday 23 January 2023.
Barry was a member working for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and was based at McDonald Road fire station.
I know that members will join me in sending condolences to Barry’s family, friends and colleagues at such a terrible time.
We have already taken steps to ensure that legal assistance is provided to Barry’s family as necessary.
The incident will be subject to a full investigation.
Further details, including details of funeral arrangements as appropriate, will be circulated in due course.
