Pay:  London Fire Brigade Proposals

Following a meeting with the London Fire Commissioner on 12 January 2023, the attached letter has been received.  You will see it makes a proposal on pay for London. 

This issue was discussed at the Executive Council today and the following points were agreed:

• The aim of the FBU is to seek and deliver a pay rise for all members across the UK.

• The best mechanism for this is through the NJC delivering an NJC pay rise for all.

• The Executive Council is concerned that any issue of local bargaining undermines the NJC.

• The Executive Council acknowledges the particular cost of living challenges facing members in London.

On the basis of this, the Executive Council agreed to explore the points raised within the letter from the London Fire Commissioner through further meetings.  A copy of the letter of response sent to the London Fire Commissioner today is therefore also attached.

Further details will be provided as soon as possible.
