Dear Brother/Sister
National Ballot for Strike Action
The national ballot for strike action of Grey Book FBU members and North West Fire Control FBU members commenced 5 December 2022 and will conclude 2pm on 30 January 2023. Ballot papers will now be arriving at the address held for you on the FBU membership database.

The circular included with your ballot paper explains in detail why the Executive Council has agreed an extended ballot period.
Due to the restrictive Government legislation that covers ballots for industrial action the union is unable to offer the option to vote online. Therefore, a postal ballot is the only option available.
What to do if you don’t receive a ballot paper
If you do not receive your ballot paper by 19 December 2022 please email [email protected] with your name, membership number (if you have it), home address and workplace.
Our membership services team will be regularly updating data sheets and forwarding requests for additional ballots to the independent scrutineer. This will be done throughout the ballot period, with special measures taken to limit the impact of the public holiday period.
The Executive Council recommends that you vote ‘YES’ to the question on the ballot paper:
‘Are you prepared to take part in industrial action consisting of strike action’.
Let’s stand together for fair pay.
Vote Yes X
Yours in unity
Matt Wrack
General Secretary
