Dear Brother/Sister
Merseyside Fire Brigades Union Notification of ASOS Ballot Result
Following a request from the Merseyside Brigade Committee to the Executive Council to ballot Merseyside members for action short of strike consisting of not undertaking pre-arranged overtime, a ballot of Merseyside members commenced on 18 October and closed at 2pm on 11 November 2022.
The ballot result was as follows:
The number of individuals entitled to vote was 569
The number of votes cast in the ballot was 469
The number of individuals answering “yes” to the question was 413
The number of individuals answering “no” to the question was 56
The number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned was 0
The percentage of those voting who voted YES is 88.06%
I therefore confirm the number of votes cast in the ballot was at least 50% of the number of individuals entitled to vote in the ballot.
I further confirm the number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.
Merseyside members will be shortly notified of proposed industrial action which will not commence before 1 December 2022.
