Death of Member – Brother Andrew (Andy) Watt - (Region 6 – East Midlands)
It is with deep regret and great sadness that I have to inform you of the death of our member, Brother Andy Watt, who sadly died in the early hours of Thursday 28th July 2022.
Andy proudly served within Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service at Loughborough Fire Station for 16 years. He joined the Fire Service after a 7-year career in the army with the Staffordshire Regiment. He served with tours of Northern Ireland and United Nations Peace Keeping in Cyprus, Hong Kong, Kenya and Canada.
Andy leaves behind his two children Lauren and Adam, aged 15 and 13, his mother Veronica and his sister Andrea. Everyone in the FBU sends Andy’s family, friends, and colleagues our heartfelt condolences and solidarity at this incredibly sad time.
FBU officials at local and national level are liaising to ensure all necessary steps are taken to provide support to family and colleagues.
