Dear Brother / Sister
Please find attached a copy of the DCLG document named above, which has been published this week. Please note that some of the data is provisional only and will be subject to revision.
This publication updates the data published in last year figures which was circulated as a Brigade Secretaries' Circular last year (2012HOC0367AD on 4 July 2012).
The revision is shown on page 22 and is reproduced below.
| Revisions ' data for 2011-12 published in July 2013 compared to that published in July 2012, England | |||
| Revised 2011-12 at July 2013 | Difference from when first published in July 2012 | % Difference from when first published in July 2012 | |
| All fires | 223,858 | +389 | +0.2% |
| Fire false Alarms | 249,370 | +477 | +0.2% |
| Non-fire incidents | 133,476 | +281 | +0.2% |
| Fire fatalities | 314 | +10 | + 3.2% |
| Fire non-fatal casualties | 9,370 | +51 | +0.5% |
| Note: Non-fire incidents include non-fire false alarms. '-' not available as we did not publish the provisional non-fire incidents in July 2012. | |||
The document goes on to acknowledge: €œIt is worth noting that fire fatalities have been subject to the largest percentage revision.€
These revisions are usual. For example, see page 22 of the 2011-12 document which shows revisions of the data published in respect of 2010-11. In each case, the original data had to be up-rated by +3.1% / +3.2% re: fire fatalities.
This circular provides information to officials. It does not require any action.
Best wishes.
Yours fraternally
Andy Dark
Assistant General Secretary
