FBU disappointed with court ruling on injured and disabled firefighters’ ill health pensions

Fire Brigades Union General Secretary Matt Wrack said today that he was "very disappointed with the outcome of the judicial review" on firefighter pensions.

But he added "yesterday we made significant progress in detailed discussions with the government and we are hopeful of agreement.

"We cannot tolerate a position where firefighters cannot rely on a pension if they are unable to work after being injured on duty.  Who would want to take the risks of firefighting in those circumstances.
