UIA INSURANCE – HOME, MOTOR AND TRAVEL INSURANCES

You will be aware from publicity in FireFighter and elsewhere of the arrangements recently established with UIA insurance and agreed by the Executive Council.  Members need to be aware that quotes provided for insurance by UIA are a matter between the individual and the company.  It is not the case that UIA will always provide the cheapest insurance quote available and members should always seek a range of quotes. 

The agreement endorsed by the Executive Council was based on a range of factors including a record of work with other trade unions and commitment to the quality of service provided. While we expect quotes to be competitive, they may not always be the cheapest available.

Members who have concerns about the UIA service should contact Hilary.Horobin@uia.co.uk in the first instance.  If you continue to feel dissatisfied with the service, or have not received a satisfactory response, please pass the issue through your Brigade Secretary.  

We are liaising with Regional Secretary’s to ensure that all concerns raised will be passed through the appropriate channels to Head Office.
